  • Dr. (Brig.) Ajay Kumar Sahni did his MBBS from MGIMS, Sevagram, Wardha, MD (Microbiology) from AFMC Pune, DNB (Pathology) from National Board of Examinations, and Ph.D. Microbiology (Virology) from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.

  • Exhibited leadership in Antimicrobial Surveillance and Institution of Antibiotic Stewardship in the Hospital Infection Control Program
  • Led & managed CSSD Programs of the hospital and surveillance of the operation theatres and ICUs
  • Administered Hospital Antimicrobial Stewardship Program to formulate antibiotic policies and suggested mitigation measures to reduce average length of stay of the patients in the hospitals
  • Rendered advice to the clinicians during routine clinical ward rounds in the ICU settings regarding appropriate and judicious use of anti- microbial agents
  • Performed HIV research on Molecular sub-typing of HIV-1 by Heteroduplex Mobility Assay and also used Isothermal Loop Amplification Methodology (LAMP) for the first time in the Armed Forces to analyse 100 dengue virus samples and 300 samples of Japanese encephalitis virus
  • Directed a Multispecialty Mid zonal Hospital and worked as a Team Leader to manage critically ill patients
